Review of the Saint Laurent Flat Tribute Sandals

I’ve had my flat Saint Laurent Tribute Sandals for nearly a year, and I can confidently report that they are my worst shoe purchase ever. I really want to love them, but I just can’t.

Just to keep things relatively positive, I’ll start by saying that I think they are really cute. They go great with shorts and dresses. They also look high-end. But all that isn’t enough to outweigh the negatives for me.

Here are the main problems with the flat Saint Laurent Tribute Sandal:

First, the patent is so stiff. I opted for the patent because I thought they would be more durable (boy, was I wrong), but the patent makes them incredibly uncomfortable. Maybe they would soften if I wore them for three weeks straight, but my poor feet just can’t take that.

Second, they are not durable. The patent scratched on both toes the first time I wore them. I’m not talking about a little scuff that you can buff out. There are full chunks that came off while walking. Maybe I’m crappy at walking, but my other shoes do just fine. I did my best to repair them, but it doesn’t look great.

Third, the white turns yellow. Because the sole of the toe is white, it turned yellow where my toes go. I’m pretty sure my feet are clean, so I’m not sure what happened there. No matter how much I scrub, they won’t come clean.

Fourth, the Saint Laurent logo on the heel (under your foot) rubbed off within a few times of me wearing them. Lame.

That’s all to say, I do not recommend these shoes. They look cute, but they are definitely not worth the price tag (and I got mine on sale). If you have your heart set on these, at least go with a soft leather rather than patent. And get a darker color. Hopefully you can learn from my mistakes!
