Designer Handbag Wishlist

At the risk of sounding dramatic, I’m dying to add these handbags to my collection. Here’s a quick roundup of the handbags at the top of my wishlist:

Lady Dior Medium: It might just be that I wish I were a princess, but if this bag is good enough Lady Diana, it is good enough for me. I’d love one in black with silver hardware. I am partial to the medium size, but I wouldn’t be too fussed if I ended up with a smaller size. Dior prices from the boutique are outrageous, so I’ll definitely be going the preloved route, where you can get them for half as much in great condition.

Chanel Mini: This might very well be the next handbag I purchase. I sold a lot of my black bags last year (I just wasn’t using them enough to justify the space in my closet), and now I only have a few evening bags and a large Kate Spade tote. To fill the void, I’d like a Chanel square mini in black leather (either caviar or lambskin) with silver hardware (if I find a good deal on one with gold hardware, that’ll work too). Different from the Lady Dior, I may have to go the preloved route simply because it is incredibly difficult to find minis at the boutiques.

Loewe Puzzle Bag: I tried this bag on a few months ago in San Francisco, and I’m in love. The leather is wonderful, the shape is perfect and slouchy, and the branding is minimal. The small is a good size, but I think I’m leaning toward the medium. I love the tan leather, but they make some bright colors that are fun too. I’d have purchased it already, but I think the handbag is a tad overpriced. I’ve had it on my wishlist for the last year, but I’m going to give it another 6 months or so to see if I really still love it before I pull the trigger.

Saint Laurent Sac du Jour: For years, I have been on the hunt for a great work bag that can carry my laptop, files, and all the regular contents of my handbag. I had a Tory Burch one that I used for a bit, but I scratched the leather shoving it under the seat in front of me on a plane, so I sold it. Right now, I’m using a Kate Spade one that is pretty cute and very practical. But I want something a bit more substantial that will last for many, many years. I think the Sac du Jour might be just the ticket. It has a great shape (assuming you get the older, more structured version), and the quality is impressive.

Celine Box Bag: With all the changes at Celine right now, this one is tough. I’m a bit worried about how the brand is going to do under the new leadership, and I can’t say I’ve seen positive feedback on the new direction. That makes me a tad worried about spending that much dough on a handbag, but I do love the simple lines of the Box Bag. I also used to have the Celine Cabas Phantom Tote on my wishlist, but I heard that they are discontinuing it, which means it would be harder to resell later. With a few exceptions, discontinuing a handbag tends to hurt the resale value. Setting all of that aside, I think the Box Bag is here to stay. I love the simplicity and beautiful colors.

Fendi Peekaboo: I haven’t ever seen this bag in person, so I’m not sure if I actually would like it, but the YouTube videos are off the hook, so I might just be buying into some of the hype from my favorite YouTubers. I do like the shape (although it is a bit close to the Hermes Kelly, in my opinion). I think the colors are beautiful, and I like the minimal branding. It really is a designer handbag that doesn’t stand out, which can be really nice sometimes.

Louis Vuitton: This has been my most shopped fashion house to date, so I have a pretty decent Louis Vuitton collection already. If I were to add something from LV, it would probably be a Pochette Metis or Speedy B in empreinte, which would be duplicates of handbags already in my collection. But I do love both the Pochette Metis and the Speedy, so I would be one happy gal if I were able to add different colors or materials to my collection.

Gucci: I’d really like something with the Gucci supreme print. I’m not sure what quite yet, but don’t be surprised if I update this later to add that print. The canvas is just so perfectly vintage. I love it.

Well that about does it. I could have gone on and on with other handbags on the list, but these ones have the top spots, at least for now.

Thanks for dreaming with me!
